Match Report

On a wet and cold autumn day, Redland 2s travelled the short distance to Yate to play Badminton & Pucklechurch. The opposition elected to play with no goalkeeper, an unusual decision, but one where their kicking back was in fine form. Redland started brightly, and created many chances, but thwarted by stubborn defending from the opposition. The deadlock was finally broken after a through ball from Pav, finding Woody, who slammed the ball home. After a vocal team talk at half time, Redland started the 2nd half with renewed determination, and with great team passing; finally Mitch lifted the ball home (she had missed a few sitters previously!). The 3rd goal came after a neat short corner, Woody injecting, Mitch stop and pass to Kate who perfectly slotted the ball into the net. The 4th goal came after  much pressure, and another short corner awarded; and this time converted by Mitch. Sterling team efforts, steady defence of Pav, Emily and Claire, with Rosie on her toes for when needed; the energetic midfield of Abi, Emily, Kate, Elaine, Woody; who all combined so well to create many attacks for forwards Mitch and Ella.

Man of the Match to Elaine with a controlled, solid performance in midfield, with excellent link play, closely followed by Emily Andrews and Kate. A great team effort from all involved, roll on next week. DOD - Abi - being led astray by a Yate Wereys player!!!!
